TMC Starts Signature Campaign

Guwahati: The Assam Trinamool Congress (TMC) continued its signature drive in Guwahati to protest of the city’s rising living costs, rising property taxes, and scarcity of potable water.

Members of Assam TMC, Assam TMC Youth and Women’s wing took part in the signature drive at Fancy Bazaar in Guwahati in the presence of its party president Ripun Bora.

Prior to that, the party ran its well-known campaign in Beltola Bazaar and Paltan Bazaar as well, winning the public’s enthusiastic support.

Party members gathered signatures on a letter while canvassing stores in the market with the slogans “Stop Price Rise,” “Stop Hike in Property Taxes,” and “Anti-Public Himanta Govt Murdabaad.”

The letter will be submitted to the Chief Secretary of the Government of Assam after the mass signing event.

Party state president Ripun Bora emphasised how Assam Police officials stopped TMC leaders from staging a rally. He added that any interaction with the public that casts doubt on the legitimacy of the government is feared by the BJP government.
