Tobacco products banned in West Bengal
Guwahati: The manufacturing, storage, sale, or distribution of gutkha and pan masala containing tobacco and/or nicotine have been banned in West Bengal.
The West Bengal Government has imposed the ban for a period of one year which will come into force from 7 November 2021.
According to reports, the decision has been taken by keeping in mind the health of people.
It may be mentioned that this is not the first time the West Bengal Government banned tobacco and nicotine products earlier in 2019 the Trinamool Congress had imposed a ban on tobacco products.
