Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ to Premiere Out of Competition at Cannes 2025

Entertainment: Tom Cruise is set to return to the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the much-anticipated eighth installment in the blockbuster spy thriller franchise. The film will be presented Out of Competition at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival, with its gala premiere scheduled for May 14 at the iconic Grand Theatre Lumière.

Cruise, who also serves as a producer on the film, will ascend the steps of the Palais des Festivals alongside director and longtime collaborator Christopher McQuarrie, as well as the film’s ensemble cast. This marks another Cannes appearance for the Hollywood action legend, who last attended in 2022 with the global hit Top Gun: Maverick and earlier with Ron Howard’s Far and Away in 1992.

The Final Reckoning boasts a star-studded lineup including Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, Katy O’Brian, and Tramell Tillman. The film continues the high-octane legacy of the Mission: Impossible series, blending explosive stunts with intricate espionage.

Presented by Paramount Pictures and Skydance, the film will hit Indian theatres on May 23 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, including IMAX formats for an immersive cinematic experience.

The Cannes Film Festival, which will run from May 13 to 24, will see acclaimed French actress Juliette Binoche preside over the main competition jury, adding further glamour and gravitas to the prestigious event.
