Guwahati: A tractor-trolley carrying 46 people toppled and sank into a pond after slipping off the main road on the Itaunja to Kumhrawan route in Lucknow on Monday. Ten people were killed in the accident.
The injured people were taken in by Itaunja CHC. IG for Lucknow Range, Laxmi Singh, said, “In Itaunja, when they were making their way to a temple, the tractor’s trolley became unbalanced and turned over in a pond. The SDRF team arrived quickly. 37 persons were saved and are in good condition. At the hospital, 10 persons had their deaths confirmed.”
District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar of Lucknow stated: “Teams from the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) are working to save people right now. The Itaunja CHC has received the injured patients.”
Teams from the SDRF are on the scene assisting with the rescue efforts.
