Tragedy Strikes as Speeding Car Rams Devotees in Lumding

Guwahati, 14th August: In a devastating incident that unfolded on Sunday night, a group of devotees on a ‘Bol Bom’ pilgrimage in Assam’s Lumding were tragically struck by a speeding car. The incident, which occurred near the ‘Dangoriya Baba Shiva Mandir’ (Shiva Temple) beside the national highway, has left the community in shock and mourning.

Reports indicate that the collision resulted in the loss of two lives, with one victim identified as Mubarak Ahmed from Lumding’s Krishnagar locality and the other yet to be officially identified, hailing from Lanka. Both individuals tragically lost their lives due to the impact of the accident.

In addition to the fatalities, five other devotees sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision. These injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at the Diphu Medical College Hospital.

This heart-wrenching incident serves as a somber reminder of the risks that can arise when road safety measures are compromised. The community is left grappling with the shock and sorrow brought about by the untimely loss of lives during a time of devotion and pilgrimage.

As investigations into the accident continue, the hope is that authorities can shed light on the circumstances that led to this tragic event and work towards preventing similar incidents in the future.
