Tragedy Strikes in Assam’s Dhubri District: Two Children Lost in Water Mishap

Dhubri, 15th July: A tragic incident unfolded in Assam’s Dhubri district where three children from the same family fell into water, resulting in the loss of two lives. The Gauripur police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams swiftly responded to the scene, managing to rescue one child alive.

Six-year-old Abu Sayed and eight-year-old Sultana Parbin tragically lost their lives in the accident. Their bodies were taken to Dhubri Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations. The third child, a young girl, was successfully rescued and promptly admitted to the hospital for urgent medical care.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the children went missing after one of them attempted to save another who had fallen into the water, underscoring the sudden and heartbreaking nature of the incident.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. Local officials are urging parents and guardians to maintain vigilance and implement necessary precautions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

This unfortunate event serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of water safety awareness and proactive measures to safeguard children in communities.
