Train Derailment Causes Cancellations and Diversions – Tragedy Strikes Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express

National Desk, 12th October: A devastating incident unfolded on October 12 near Raghunathpur station in Bihar’s Buxar district, as more than 12 coaches of the 125-6 Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derailed. This unfortunate event has had far-reaching consequences in the railway network.

Tragically, the derailment has led to the loss of at least 4 lives and left over 70 passengers injured. Buxar Superintendent of Police, Manish Kumar, confirmed these fatalities. In the aftermath, injured passengers were swiftly transported to local hospitals, and those with critical injuries were taken to AIIMS in Patna.

In response to this calamity, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed his condolences and pledged a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the derailment.

The East Central Railway zone has taken immediate action by releasing a list of cancelled and partially cancelled trains, along with information on trains that have been diverted onto alternate routes. In an effort to provide support and assistance, emergency helpline numbers for affected passengers have been made available by the railways.

This tragic incident has disrupted the lives of many and cast a somber shadow over the railway community. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this trying time.
