Triple Tragedy Strikes Assam Roads
Guwahati: A grim Sunday unfolded across Assam as a series of devastating road accidents claimed three lives and left several injured.
In a heart-wrenching incident in Bohalpur Nathpara, near Chapar, a stationary tractor became a deadly obstacle. A speeding motorcycle crashed into the tractor, tragically killing Hemanta Nath and critically injuring Tarun Nath. The latter was rushed to Bongaigaon for emergency medical attention. Local residents expressed deep concern over the reckless parking of the tractor, urging authorities to take stringent measures to prevent such accidents.
On National Highway 17, a head-on collision between a Swift car and a motorcycle near Makri in Goalpara resulted in the untimely demise of Shankar Barman. Another rider, Montu Rabha, sustained critical injuries in the accident. Police are investigating the exact cause of the collision.
In another tragic event, a speeding truck struck and killed Manoj Das, also known as Apu Das, at Baghmari Center in Biswanath. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Das succumbed to his injuries. The authorities have seized the truck and are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
