Tripura, Arunachal, and Manipur Contestants Win Mega Mister North East 2024

Northeast: Salkwachnag Debbarma from Tripura, Nawang Dondup from Arunachal Pradesh, and Nikhil Okram from Manipur emerged as winners of the 14th Set Wet Mega Mister North East pageant, held on January 30 at the ITA Cultural Complex in Machkhowa.

The grand event, featuring 54 finalists from across the region, once again cemented its status as the premier male pageant in Northeast India.

Adding international glamour to the occasion, Mister International 2024 Fran Zafra from Spain attended as a special guest.

One of the three winners will now go on to represent India at the prestigious Mister International pageant, further elevating the region’s presence on the global fashion stage.

The victors walked away with prize packages worth over ₹50,000, in addition to professional representation from Mega Entertainment.

Over the coming year, they will engage in brand collaborations, fashion showcases, and exclusive photoshoots, stepping into the limelight as ambassadors of Northeast India’s dynamic fashion industry.

Ahead of the finale, contestants underwent rigorous grooming and training sessions in Guwahati, preparing them for the highly competitive event.

Supported by the Ministry of Tourism under the Incredible India campaign, the pageant not only celebrated male beauty and talent but also highlighted the cultural heritage and tourism potential of Northeast India.

Notably, it incorporated elements promoting the Maha Kumbh Mela, linking regional culture to a broader national narrative.

Set Wet, returning as the title sponsor for the second consecutive year, reinforced its commitment to promoting young talent from the region.

Founded by fashion entrepreneur Abhijeet Singha, the pageant has served as a launchpad for aspiring models for nearly 15 years.

Organised by Mega Entertainment, the event followed extensive auditions across all eight northeastern states, reaffirming its mission to showcase regional talent on a global platform while celebrating Northeast India’s rich diversity.
