Tripura: Assam Rifles and Customs Department Seize 30,000 Yaba Tablets in Agartala

Northeast Desk, August 31, 2024 — In a significant drug enforcement operation, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Customs Department, seized 30,000 Yaba tablets valued at Rs 4.8 crore late Friday night in Jogendra Nagar, Agartala.

The operation also led to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of a Maruti XL-6. According to Assam Rifles, the raid was conducted based on credible intelligence, highlighting their ongoing commitment to combating drug trafficking and illegal smuggling.

The seized contraband, along with the apprehended individuals and the vehicle, has been handed over to the Police Department for further investigation and legal proceedings. This successful operation underscores the Assam Rifles’ resolute efforts in the fight against drug-related crimes and smuggling activities.
