Tripura BJP Forms Lok Sabha Election Management Committee
Northeast Desk, 20th March: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has established a 74-member Lok Sabha Election Management Committee to oversee the electoral process for the state’s two parliamentary seats.
Chaired by BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, the election committee meeting included key figures such as Assam-Tripura General Secretary (Organization) Ravindra Raju, and General Secretaries Amit Rakhshit and Bipin Debbarma.
The committee comprises 74 members, with 37 individuals assigned to each parliamentary seat. These members have been delegated specific responsibilities to ensure efficient management of the election process.
Former minister and MLA Bhagaban Das will lead the Lok Sabha West Parliamentary Seat as the In-Charge, with Papia Datta serving as Co-Incharge. Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath has been appointed as the Convener, alongside MLA Abhishek Deb Roy as Co-convener.
For the East (ST) parliamentary seat, BJP’s General Secretary Amit Rakhshit assumes the role of Lok Sabha In-charge, supported by Vice President Bimal Chakma as Co-in Charge. Minister Tinku Roy will oversee operations as the Lok Sabha Convener, with MLA Sambhu Lal Jamatia serving as Co-convener.
The formation of the Lok Sabha Election Management Committee underscores the BJP’s strategic approach to the forthcoming electoral contest in Tripura.
