Tripura BJP MLA Resigns from the Assembly

Guwahati: Tripura BJP MLA Burba Mohan Tripura resigned from the body on Friday, rejecting the combined might of the BJP and IPFT.

He’ll probably join TIPRA (Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance) this evening, a party with a tribal base.

TIPRA Chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarman was with him when he resigned.

Tripura represents the Karbook assembly district as an MLA.

This occurred three days later after IPFT MLA Brishaketu Debbarma was barred from the Tripura assembly.

Burba Mohan Tripura, who declined requests for comment, won the tribally designated Karbook seat in the Gomati district of southern Tripura and was subsequently elected to the state Assembly.

The BJP leaders declined to respond right away when approached by IANS.

Burba Mohan Tripura has left the BJP’s representation in the Assembly four times since last year.
