Tripura BJP President Calls for Change, Gains Support in Sonamura

Northeast Desk, 6th February: Tripura BJP president, Rajib Bhattacharya, urged citizens to oust the CPIM and Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, accusing them of depriving the public and misusing funds meant for the poor and farmers.

Leading a significant joining program in Sonamura, Sepahijala district, 817 voters from 213 families embraced the BJP, leaving behind the CPIM and Congress.

Addressing the gathering, Bhattacharya emphasized the massive support the BJP has gained in the state, citing the substantial number of people leaving the Congress and CPIM.

He expressed, “A new hope has been ignited in the people, believing that only the BJP government can bring about real development. This double-engine government is committed to progress. With faith in the BJP, people have elected the government for a second term.”

Highlighting CPIM’s 25-year rule, he accused them of looting funds meant for the poor and farmers, failing to implement beneficial schemes, and engaging in fraudulent activities for personal gains.

Bhattacharya acknowledged that people have now recognized their mistakes.

“CPIM and Congress joined forces in the 2023 Assembly election. CPIM won in Sonamura, but what have they achieved in the assembly? It’s time to overthrow CPIM and Congress from Sonamura and the state in the Lok Sabha election,” he declared.

Simultaneously, at the BJP state party office in Agartala, over 100 workers from various political parties, including Trinamool Congress secretary Amit Kumar Saha, joined the BJP.
