Tripura BJP President Dismisses Congress-Tipra Motha Talks as Insignificant Challenge

Northeast Desk, 25th February: Tripura BJP President Rajib Bhattacharya asserted on Sunday that the recent discussions between Congress and Tipra Motha would have minimal impact on state politics and pose no challenge to the BJP, as the saffron party remains steadfast and prepared.

Following a meeting between Tripura Congress leaders and Tipra Motha, the principal opposition party in Tripura, held in Agartala on Friday, Bhattacharya addressed the media after PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat. He acknowledged learning about the updates through media channels, emphasizing that the talks did not present a significant challenge for the BJP.

Bhattacharya highlighted the BJP’s preparedness, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s consistent efforts towards development and welfare, alongside the dedicated service of Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha. He referenced recent initiatives, such as the launch of a health insurance scheme providing medical benefits up to Rs 5 lakh for all citizens. Bhattacharya reiterated the party’s readiness and expressed confidence by symbolically mentioning presenting two lotuses to PM Modi, emphasizing that the BJP cannot be pressured, as evidenced by recent elections.

When questioned about ongoing dialogues with Tipra Motha within the BJP, Bhattacharya refrained from commenting, indicating that only top leaders could provide information on the matter.

Regarding Mann Ki Baat, Bhattacharya expressed gratitude for listening to the episode with party workers in Ramnagar, highlighting PM Modi’s emphasis on working for the welfare of society, particularly for the marginalized, and providing government benefits to the last person in society.
