Tripura: BJP Set to Announce Candidate for 7-Ramnagar Assembly Constituency Bye-election Tomorrow

Northeast Desk, 20th March: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to reveal its candidate for the upcoming bye-election in the 7-Ramnagar Assembly Constituency by tomorrow. The seat fell vacant following the passing of veteran politician and sitting MLA Surajit Datta.

Former MLA Ratan Das has been nominated by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) to contest from this assembly constituency.

Pradesh BJP President Rajib Bhattachary made this announcement following an organizational meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Lok Sabha West parliamentary constituency candidate Biplab Kumar Deb, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, and Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder.

In attendance at the meeting were BJP MLAs, BJP Mandal Presidents, and other leaders.

Bhattacharya stated that the Pradesh BJP conducted the organizational meeting in preparation for the Lok Sabha elections in two seats and the bye-election in the Ramnagar AC. He highlighted the party’s confidence in winning both seats and outlined the series of events, including organizational meetings and campaigning, already underway.

He further revealed that he had spoken with BJP Northeast Coordinator Sambit Patra earlier in the day and informed him that the candidate name for the Ramnagar Assembly Constituency would be declared by tomorrow.
