Tripura: BSF Apprehends 10 Bangladeshi Nationals in Border Operation
Northeast Desk, August 3, 2024 — The Border Security Force (BSF) launched a special operation at the BOP Akhaura Check Post in response to illegal crossings into Bangladesh, resulting in the arrest of 10 Bangladeshi nationals attempting to cross the border illegally.
Acting on specific intelligence, the operation commenced around 5:30 pm. The BSF personnel promptly alerted the deployed troops and intensified their patrols in the area.
During their patrol, BSF personnel observed suspicious movement near the border fencing close to the Indian village of Sanmura. The individuals were intercepted and taken into custody.
Preliminary questioning of the apprehended individuals is currently being conducted by the BSF. Further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances and motives behind the illegal crossings.
