Tripura: BSF Hands Over Body of Bangladeshi Smuggler Killed in Firing Incident

Northeast Desk, 19th March: Following the incident where a Bangladesh smuggler was killed in Border Security Force (BSF) firing in Magruli village of Kailashahar, Unakoti district, the body of the deceased youth, identified as Saddam Hossain, was handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday.

An FIR was promptly lodged by the BSF at Irani police station immediately after the incident, and a flag meeting between BSF and BGB was convened on Monday to address the matter.

The body of Saddam Hossain was handed over to the BGB in the presence of Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kailashahar Jayanta Karmakar and other officials, including the deceased’s father.

It is noteworthy that BSF constable Mohan Lal was also seriously injured during the attack by the smugglers in Sunday’s incident. The injured BSF Jawan is currently undergoing treatment at the Unakoti district hospital and is expected to be transferred to GB Pant Hospital in Agartala for further medical care on Tuesday.
