Tripura BSF Thwarts Smuggling Attempts, Seizes Contraband Worth Rs 2,07,495
Agartala: The Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura has successfully foiled multiple attempts to smuggle goods across the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Acting on credible intelligence, vigilant BSF troops intercepted the smuggling operations, leading to the seizure of a substantial amount of contraband.
The seized items include ganja, phensedyl, sugar, and other illicit goods, with an estimated total value of Rs 2,07,495.
This successful operation highlights the BSF’s continued efforts to combat cross-border smuggling activities and maintain security along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
In a joint operation involving the Tripura Police, the Border Security Force (BSF), and the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP), two individuals have been apprehended on suspicion of human trafficking. The operation took place in the Mati Nagar area of Sonamura.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Shahid Mia (33) and Faichal Mia (19). The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the GRP confirmed the details of the operation and the arrests. This joint effort demonstrates the strong collaboration between law enforcement agencies in combating human trafficking within the region.
