Tripura Cabinet: 11 MLA’s take oath as ministers in Manik Saha govt
Guwahati: A total of 11 MLAs took oath as Tripura cabinet ministers on Monday.
Nine of the eleven newly sworn ministers are from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), while two are from the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT).
Notably, ‘rebel’ IPFT leader Mevar Kumar Jamatia, who previously served in the Biplab Kumar Deb cabinet has been dismissed.
The new cabinet ministers were sworn in and given the oath of office and secrecy by Tripura Governor SN Arya.
The oath was administered in the Raj Bhavan in Tripura, in the presence of Chief Minister Manik Saha, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, and other dignitaries.
The new Tripura cabinet comprises Jishnu Dev Varma, NC Debbarma (IPFT), Ratan Lal Nath, Pranajit Singha Roy, Manoj Kanti Deb, Santana Chakma, Ram Prasad Paul, Bhagaban Das, Sushanta Chowdhury, Rampada Jamatia and Prem Kumar Reang (IPFT).
It needs to be mentioned that Manik Saha was sworn in as chief minister of Tripura on Sunday.
However, Biplab Kumar Deb resigned on Saturday as chief minister in a major political development.
