Guwahati: Biplab Kumar Deb, a BJP leader, announced his resignation as Chief Minister of Tripura on Saturday (May 14).
Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya received his resignation.
According to reports, the name of the new chief minister will be decided at the legislature party meeting on Saturday evening.
After meeting with the governor, Deb told TOI that the BJP wants him to work to improve the organisation.
Natoably, Deb travelled to New Delhi on Thursday to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda to discuss the party’s operations in the Northeastern state.
It should be noted that the state assembly elections in 2023 are only eight months away.
