Tripura Chief Minister Presents Six Requests at NEC Plenary in Shillong

Northeast Desk, 19th January: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, attending the 71st Plenary of the North Eastern Council (NEC) in Shillong, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their dedicated attention to Tripura’s development.

In his address at the plenary, Chief Minister Saha outlined six key requests:

  1. Increase in allocation of NEC funds.
  2. Upgrading Tripura Medical College (TMC) into an AIIMS-like institute.
  3. Establishing a medical college in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) area.
  4. Augmenting natural gas allocation for industrial purposes.
  5. Ensuring early operationalization of the Agartala-Cox Bazaar International flight.
  6. Easing the ceiling on borrowing under Externally Aided Projects and facilitating trade with Bangladesh.

These requests aim to enhance healthcare infrastructure, industrial development, connectivity, and economic ties in Tripura, reflecting the state’s commitment to comprehensive progress.
