Tripura Chief Minister Sanctions Rs 87 Crore for Statewide Infrastructure Boost
In a significant push for development ahead of the festive season, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has sanctioned a substantial sum of over Rs 87 crore for a series of infrastructure upgrades across the state. The move, aimed at enhancing civic amenities, road connectivity, and public health, is expected to bring a tangible improvement to the lives of citizens.
A key focus of this initiative is the state capital, with projects worth Rs 32.33 crore sanctioned for the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC). This will fund the construction of RCC cover drains and roads in various wards, addressing long-standing concerns about urban infrastructure.
Beyond the capital, the government has also allocated Rs 55.16 crore for the maintenance of 27 PMGSY roads, covering a total distance of 129.5 kilometres. These crucial road maintenance works will benefit 12 sub-divisions including Sonamura, Bishalgarh, Teliamura, Mohanpur, Udaipur, Amarpur, Sabroom, Belonia, Ambassa, Kamalpur, Kanchanpur, and Kailashahar. The timing of these projects is noteworthy, with the aim of completion before Durga Puja, ensuring smooth travel for commuters during the festive period. This proactive approach underscores the government’s commitment to efficient governance and a better quality of life for its people. The announcement follows a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister with senior officials, where he reviewed the progress of various development activities and administrative programmes. In a social media post, the Chief Minister had urged officials to complete all tasks within the scheduled time, signalling a strong resolve to deliver on these promises.
