Tripura CM Manik Saha Calls for a “Violence-Free” and “Drug-Free” State, Emphasizes Women’s Safety
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring law and order in the state, advocating for a “Hinsa Mukt Tripura” (violence-free Tripura) during a Rakhi celebration event on August 19. Addressing the gathering, Saha underscored the importance of women’s safety, highlighting that as half of the population, women play crucial roles beyond the confines of their households.
Saha acknowledged the occurrence of sporadic violence but reassured that his government remains vigilant, taking swift and decisive action to maintain peace and security. He emphasized the need to create an environment where people can live, move, and work without fear, underscoring the government’s dedication to fostering a peaceful Tripura.
The Chief Minister also linked the well-being of society to the safety and happiness of women, noting the state’s progress in reducing crime. Complementing the push for a violence-free state, Saha reiterated the ongoing efforts to achieve a “Nasha Mukt Tripura” (drug-free Tripura), reflecting the government’s holistic approach to improving the state’s social fabric.
