Tripura CM Manik Saha Lauds BJP for Restoring Religious Harmony, Warns Against Attempts to Incite Unrest

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha praised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for reinstating a religious atmosphere in the state, stating that harmony has returned since the party assumed power.

Speaking at the ‘Sanatan Dharma Sammelan’ at Netaji Subhash College in Udaipur, Gomati district, CM Saha emphasized the commitment to fostering unity among Tripura’s diverse communities.

Reflecting on the state’s past, CM Saha noted that “an atheistic environment prevailed in Tripura for 35 years” but claimed that BJP governance had restored religious harmony. He warned against attempts to incite unrest in the name of religion, emphasizing that such actions would not be tolerated. He also acknowledged the support of saints from across the country, expressing hope that their presence would bring prosperity to Tripura.

Addressing the issue of law and order, CM Saha pointed to improvements under the BJP-led administration. He refuted opposition claims of disorder, asserting that Tripura’s law and order situation has significantly progressed from the earlier atmosphere of violence and fear prevalent in the early 1980s. According to him, the opposition’s influence is dwindling, and their attempts to exploit religious differences are unlikely to gain traction among an informed public.

CM Saha also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives to enhance the country’s spiritual heritage, citing the development of prominent temples, including Kamakhya Temple in Assam and Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Tripura.

The event saw the attendance of notable figures, including Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, MLA Abhishek Debroy, MLA Jitendra Majumder, Padmashri Chittaranjan Maharaj, and prominent religious leaders like Swami Vishnu Goswami and Swami Vaishnav Maharaj.
