Tripura CM Manik Saha Lauds BSF’s Role in Ensuring Border Security at Raising Day Celebration

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha commended the Border Security Force (BSF) for its unwavering dedication to national security and the safety of citizens during the 60th Raising Day celebration at the BSF headquarters in Shalbagan.

“The BSF has been tirelessly protecting our borders since its inception in 1965,” CM Saha remarked. “As the first line of defense, your commitment allows our people to live peacefully. For our nation’s unity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have made border security a top priority, introducing new technologies and enhancing border infrastructure. We are equally committed to your welfare and security.”

As Tripura’s Home Minister, Saha emphasized the growing importance of countering advanced technological threats posed by modern terrorism. “Terrorists are using sophisticated technology to target our country. We must be prepared to respond with greater efficiency and innovation,” he urged.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to BSF personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice, acknowledging their critical role in preventing smuggling, infiltration, and illegal migration along Tripura’s 856-kilometer border with Bangladesh. “Guarding a border that surrounds our state on three sides is no easy task, yet the BSF ensures its safety through robust fencing, advanced surveillance, and collaboration with local communities,” he said.

Expressing personal admiration for the force, Saha noted, “Attending BSF Raising Day events always feels like coming home. Today, I salute the personnel who dedicate their lives to this noble cause, often at great personal cost. Your efforts exemplify unparalleled service and sacrifice.”

The celebration highlighted the BSF’s integral role in maintaining peace and security, underscoring its importance to both Tripura and the nation.
