Tripura CM Manik Saha Leads Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as Part of Independence Day Celebrations
Northeast Desk, 12th August: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on August 12 participated in a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan event at Battala in Agartala, aligning with the lead-up to the 78th Independence Day celebrations. The event, which is part of the nationwide Swachh Bharat campaign, focused on promoting cleanliness and hygiene.
Saha expressed his support for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through a post on X (formerly Twitter). He highlighted his participation in the cleanliness drive and emphasized celebrating Independence Day in a clean and dignified manner.
The day’s activities included street cleaning, maintenance of public spaces, and waste management, particularly focusing on segregating and disposing of plastic waste. Saha interacted with participants, encouraging continued adoption of eco-friendly practices.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), aims to encourage citizens to display the national flag on their homes, shops, and offices. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s call to celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervor and civic responsibility.
