Tripura CM Manik Saha Seeks Amit Shah’s Assistance Amid Worsening Flood Crisis

Northeast Desk, August 21, 2024 As Tripura faces a deepening flood crisis, Chief Minister Manik Saha has reached out to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for urgent assistance. During a phone call on Wednesday morning, Saha detailed the severity of the situation and requested additional National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to support the state’s ongoing relief operations.

“Spoke to Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri @AmitShah Ji and briefed him on the current situation arising out of severe flood situation. I also requested to despatch additional NDRF teams to support our response efforts,” Saha announced via the social media platform X.

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude for the immediate assurance of support from the Home Minister. “I am grateful to him for providing all possible support to us at this hour,” Saha added.

The floods have caused widespread disruption across Tripura, leading to a coordinated response from both state and central authorities to manage the unfolding disaster.
