Tripura: Contraband worth Rs 17 lakh Seized by BSF in Srimantapur
Northeast Desk, 11th December: The Border Security Force (BSF), deployed in Srimantapur under Sabroom Sub-division of Tripura’s South district, conducted a successful operation resulting in the seizure of contraband items valued at Rs 17 lakh. According to a press release, BSF Tripura Frontier troops launched a special operation against narcotics in Srimantapur on December 10, leading to the confiscation of 1,550 Yaba tablets worth Rs 7,75,000.
In separate operations at various locations, the BSF also seized Eskuf/Phensedyl, sugar, and other contraband items, with a combined seizure value of Rs 10,11,290. The press release emphasized BSF’s commitment to combating border smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh international border and addressing the narcotics menace in Tripura, aiming to establish the state as narcotics-free.
