Tripura: CPI(M) State Secretary Demands Immediate Removal of SDPO
Guwahati: The state secretary of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPIM) Jiten Choudhury has demanded the immediate dismissal of the additional superintendent of police for the Sepahijala district, the sub-divisional police officer for Bishalgarh and the officer in charge of the Bishalgarh Police Station.
Jiten Choudhury demanded the expulsion of the officers in a letter to the CEO stating that three policemen have covert ties to the BJP and are working with local BJP leaders.
State secretary for the CPI(M) Jiten Choudhury said that Section 302 (murder charges) in the charge-sheet of one Sahid Mia murder case was purposefully left out by the three policemen.
Choudhury further said that the three did not do a thorough investigation before writing their report. Choudhury asserted that all of the suspects in this murder case were granted bail by the court on January 30 as a result of the week’s police report.
Jiten Choudhury said that not a single FIR identified principal accused spent even a single day in police detention. In the absence of the officials’ termination, the CPI(M) state secretary asked that several similar operations continue even during the elections.
In fact, Choudhury has urged disciplinary action be taken against the three police officers and their dismissal prior to the elections.
