Northeast Desk, 5th Jan: Olympian Dipa Karmakar, representing Tripura, made a triumphant return to the national gymnastics arena after an eight-year hiatus. At the Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championship in Bhubaneswar, she secured a Gold in All-around, a Silver in Vault, and another Silver in Uneven Bars in the women’s competition.
Pranati Das from Railways also shone, claiming two Gold medals in Uneven Bars and Floor Exercise. She secured the second spot in the all-around women’s category. Additionally, Pranati Nayak from Railways won Gold in Vault and Bronze in Balance Beam.
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha congratulated Dipa Karmakar on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Great comeback for @DipaKarmakar! Congratulations for bagging 3 medals at the Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championship organized at Gymnastics Centre in Kalinga Stadium, Odisha.”
