Northeast Desk, 13th November: In a heartbreaking incident in Agartala’s Masterpara area, the Diwali festivities turned into a nightmare for Bishal Deb and his family as their residence was reduced to ashes last night. The fire, believed to have been sparked by a firecracker, quickly consumed the house, leaving behind charred remnants.
Bishal stated that the fire originated from a firecracker that landed in one of the rooms. Despite immediate efforts to control the flames, the fire spread rapidly, prompting the family to seek assistance from the local community.
Residents of Masterpara rushed to the scene upon hearing distress calls, joining forces to combat the fire. Two fire engines were promptly dispatched, but by the time they arrived, the inferno had engulfed the entire house.
Neighbors and firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the situation under control, preventing the fire from escalating further. While the financial loss is estimated to be around Rs 12 lakh, authorities will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause and extent of the damage.
