Tripura Establishes Special Task Force to Combat Criminal Groups and Syndicates

Northeast Desk, 21st October: Tripura Chief Minister, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, announced the formation of a ‘Special Task Force’ by the Crime Branch of the Tripura Police to counter criminal groups and syndicates operating within the state. Dr. Saha made this announcement while attending the Police Commemoration Day at the Manoranjan Debbarma Smriti Stadium of Police Lines in Arundhatinagar, Agartala.

In his address during the event, the Chief Minister acknowledged the critical role played by Tripura Police in ensuring the safety of the society. He commended their tireless efforts and dedication to safeguarding citizens from the influence of anti-social elements and criminals. The establishment of the ‘Special Task Force’ is a step aimed at strengthening the state’s response to criminal activities.

Police Commemoration Day, observed on October 21 across the country, serves as a solemn occasion to honor the courageous martyrs who have sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation. Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of the police force’s role in addressing the concerns of the public. He urged the police to actively listen to the problems faced by the people and to take transparent and sincere actions in resolving these issues. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency in policy and encouraged the police to act in a manner that would be remembered positively by the citizens in the future.
