Tripura Finance Minister Highlights Rs 78 Crore Grant from 15th Finance Commission for TTAADC Development

Agartala — Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy announced on November 6 that a grant of Rs 78 crore, provided by the 15th Finance Commission, will significantly enhance development initiatives within the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

This funding, released by the Central government, is expected to address key development needs in the tribal areas.

In his remarks to the media, Finance Minister Singha Roy noted that the state government had also allocated an additional Rs 30 crore for TTAADC projects outside the state’s primary budget. “This separate allocation will ensure that the TTAADC’s development projects proceed smoothly, without any funding obstacles,” he emphasized.

The minister outlined further government efforts, which include extending dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) benefits to government employees and pensioners, despite challenges posed by recent floods. He also highlighted welfare measures introduced for Tripura State Rifles and Tripura Police personnel, demonstrating the government’s commitment to supporting various groups across the state.

The grant, he said, reflects the state’s dedication to fulfilling longstanding demands for the TTAADC’s development, an area often impacted by resource limitations. “This support from the Centre will provide a major boost to TTAADC’s growth trajectory,” Singha Roy stated, expressing optimism for improved infrastructure and services in the tribal council’s jurisdiction.
