Tripura: Five Arrested, Including BSF Personnel in Clash Over Property Dispute

Northeast Desk, 6th November: Five individuals, including BSF personnel have been arrested in connection with a violent clash that occurred following a property dispute, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.

The altercation unfolded in the Goalabasti area, a slum situated within the New Capital Complex vicinity in Agartala city on Sunday evening. According to Officer-in-Charge of New Capital Complex (NCC), Sushanta Deb, the dispute originally involved a family disagreement over property matters, which subsequently escalated into a violent confrontation.

“We have apprehended five individuals involved in the incident and initiated further investigations to detain more persons connected to the case. Additionally, we have confiscated some iron rods and non-lethal weapons,” he stated.

The arrested individuals were identified as Bijendra Roy, Sachindra Roy (a BSF jawan), Dinesh Roy, Nasib Lal Roy, and Ramsagar Roy.

During the altercation, a 65-year-old individual, Nagina Prasad Rai, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to GBP Hospital, Agartala for medical care, where he regrettably succumbed to his injuries.
