Tripura: Former BJP MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik Expelled for Six Years Over Anti-party Activities

Northeast Desk, 30th November: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has expelled its former MLA, Arun Chandra Bhowmik, for six years, citing anti-party activities. The decision, made by State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, was conveyed to Bhowmik through a formal letter.

The expulsion is effective immediately from the date of the letter, and Bhowmik is no longer affiliated with the BJP in any capacity.

Sources mentioned that Bhowmik’s involvement in activities against the party’s interests and objectives prompted the decision. The expulsion serves as a response to actions found to be in direct contravention of the principles, values, and directives set forth by the BJP.

Arun Chandra Bhowmik, formerly a Congress leader, joined the BJP before the 2018 Assembly Election and later became an MLA after winning from the Belonia Assembly Constituency in the same year.
