Tripura Fortifies Border Security Following Central Directives
Tripura’s Chief Minister, Manik Saha, has declared the state is operating with full preparedness in accordance with directives issued by the Central government, speaking on May 10th. This declaration followed a crucial, closed-door meeting held at the Chief Minister’s official residence on Thursday evening. The primary focus of the meeting was to bolster surveillance and security measures along the sensitive India-Bangladesh border.
The meeting, lasting over an hour, saw the participation of senior officials from key security agencies, including the Border Security Force, Assam Rifles, Tripura Police, and other paramilitary forces. Representatives from various intelligence agencies were also present, contributing to the comprehensive security review.
Chief Minister Saha conveyed that he had specifically instructed all security forces to ensure seamless coordination and to maintain heightened vigilance along the international border. He emphasized the necessity of a unified approach to safeguard the state’s boundaries.
“There was a meeting yesterday, where I instructed security personnel to coordinate closely. I’ve also emphasized the need for heightened alertness along the international border,” CM Saha reiterated, underscoring the critical nature of the security measures.
He further clarified that the state’s actions are directly aligned with the guidelines provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. “We are working strictly as per the guidelines provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. The state is fully prepared,” he affirmed, assuring the public of the state’s readiness to address any potential security challenges.
