Tripura Government Extends Jobs to 15 Families Affected by Political Violence

Northeast Desk, 8th December: In a notable effort to support families affected by political violence before March 9, 2018, the Tripura government has granted jobs to 15 individuals and proposed six more for government positions.

Ratan Lal Nath, the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in Tripura, disclosed this development during a press conference today, emphasizing the government’s dedication to assisting those impacted by political murders.

Minister Nath unveiled that this initiative was initiated by the state government on December 23, 2020.

“The decision was to offer one government job to the families of those who lost their lives in political violence before the specified date. A scrutiny committee was formed to thoroughly investigate and recommend eligible candidates for employment. Currently, 26 applications have been received from politically affected families, and the scrutiny committee has recommended 15 for government jobs,” stated Nath.

Significantly, the committee, entrusted with these vital decisions, was reconstituted on June 14, 2023, with Minister Nath as the chairman and the Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Department as the convener.

Other members include the Law Secretary, Secretary of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, and Additional Secretary of the Home Department.

During the press conference, the Minister informed that the committee recently evaluated six new applications, proposing jobs for three additional families. He urged families yet to seek government assistance to visit the office of the relevant Sub-Divisional Magistrate and submit their applications using the prescribed form.
