Tripura Government to Establish New CBI Camp Offices and Detective Training Institute
Northeast Desk, 17th January: The Tripura government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha, has decided to establish four new camp offices of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and has identified land for the Central Detective Training Institute. Chief Minister Saha made this announcement during the Police Week Parade at Manoranjan Debbarma Smriti Stadium in Agartala, emphasizing the crucial role played by Tripura Police in maintaining law and order in the state.
Commending the efforts of Tripura Police in reducing the overall crime rate in the state, Chief Minister Saha highlighted the significant improvement in various areas, including crimes against women, the fight against drugs, land-related crimes, and physical atrocities. He also mentioned that the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) has gained recognition nationally, with two battalions deployed in Delhi and Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Saha further revealed that Tripura received a request from Manipur to provide training to their constables, showcasing the high-quality training provided by the KTDS Police Training Academy. For the CBI, the government plans to set up camp offices in North, Unakoti, Khowai, and Dhalai districts. Additionally, ten acres of land have been identified in BodhjungNagar for establishing the Central Detective Training Institute. The government is actively working to address infrastructure challenges faced by Tripura Police.
