Tripura Government to send Rath Yatra incident victims to Delhi for specialized treatment
National Desk, 15th July: The Tripura government has made the decision to transfer three patients who were being treated to Delhi for burn wounds they received as a result of the Ulta Rath Yatra tragedy.
This was informed by Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday. The chief minister paid a visit to the patients at the GBP Hospital and promised them all the assistance the government could provide.
Taking to Twitter, Manik Saha said, “Some of the persons who suffered injuries in Kumarghat Ulta Rath tragedy are undergoing treatment at GBP Hospital. Our doctors & medical teams are delivering their best efforts to provide them treatment. Three among the injured persons are being shifted to Delhi in view of their health condition. Today visited the three injured persons in hospital & assured them all possible assistance from the government.”
It should be mentioned that on June 28, during the Ulta Rath Yatra in Tripura’s Unakoti, seven people tragically perished and 16 others suffered burn injuries after being electrified.

CM Saha immediately rushed to the scene of the accident and evaluated the situation personally. He declared that such a tragic tragedy had never happened in the state’s history, expressing his shock.
He also announced a Rs. 4 lakh ex-gratia payment to the deceased’s family along with offering his sincere sympathies for the unfortunate incident. The state government has made the decision to pay for the affected people’s medical care in full.
