Tripura Govt Certified Vendors To Operate On ‘Safe’ Street Food Lane

Guwahati: The road from Battala to Paradise Chowmuhani in Agartala will be designated by the Tripura state government as a clean and secure street food lane.

This indicates that the kiosks and street food vendors erected along the route would bear official government certification.

The district magistrate (DM) of West Tripura district, Debapriya Bardhan said, “All food producers must exercise extreme vigilance. Cooking the meal is necessary to preserve hygiene. We’ve taken the effort to encourage folks with a taste for street food to eat from these vendors with no hesitation by fostering their confidence.”

He made the statement while he was addressing at a training session for street vendors being held at TB Association Hall.

The program was also attended by health secretary Debasish Basu and director of health and family welfare Radha Debbarma.

Speaking there as well, the health secretary Basu noted that while many people enjoy eating street food, they frequently avoid doing so due to concerns about the meal’s hygienic conditions. The effort to certify the safe street food vendors has been taken by the state administration.

“The sellers that have temporary stalls set up on the Battala to Paradise road will be documented, and they must abide by certain departmental directives,” he added.
