Tripura: Historic TIPRASA Accord Signed, Pradyot Debbarma Expresses Satisfaction
Northeast Desk, 2nd March: Former TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Manikya Debbarma expressed satisfaction over the signing of the historic TIPRASA accord on March 2, highlighting the significance of the day as the agreement was finalized.
Addressing the media after the signing, Manikya Debbarma emphasized the historical importance of the agreement and applauded the Government of India’s acknowledgment of past mistakes and commitment to addressing the issues of indigenous people. He conveyed assurance from the government regarding the recognition and importance of indigenous language, economics, political aspirations, and cultural history, while also acknowledging the widespread support received throughout the process.
The signing of the TIPRASA Accord marked a pivotal moment for Tripura’s future, drawing praise from Home Minister Amit Shah. Shah commended the efforts of all stakeholders, including Pradyot Debbarma, in achieving this historic agreement.
During the ceremony, Home Minister Amit Shah underscored the significance of the accord, emphasizing its role in acknowledging past mistakes and charting a course for progress. He lauded the constructive role played by Tipra Motha, tribal parties, and organizations in contributing to the peace-building process.
The tripartite agreement among the Government of India, the Government of Tripura, and the Tipra Motha signifies a significant step towards addressing longstanding tribal grievances and ensuring their rights. Shah credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in fostering peace and prosperity in the Northeast, highlighting the series of accords signed under the Modi government’s tenure aimed at fostering development in the region.
