Tripura Minister Animesh Debbarma Unhappy with Portfolio Allocation, Seeks Meeting with Amit Shah

Northeast Desk, 12th June: Tipra Motha leader Animesh Debbarma, recently inducted as a minister in the BJP-led government in Tripura, has expressed dissatisfaction with the portfolios allotted to him. Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Debbarma voiced his concerns and plans to discuss the issue with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Addressing reporters, Debbarma revealed that he has already communicated his displeasure to Chief Minister Manik Saha. “The Forest Department is acceptable, but I am not content with the departments of Printing & Stationery and Science & Technology, excluding TREDA. I have raised the matter with the CM and requested more significant departments to better serve the rural populace,” Debbarma stated on Tuesday.

Debbarma intends to visit Delhi to meet Shah, congratulating him on his continued leadership in the Ministry of Home Affairs and addressing his portfolio concerns. “With 22 years in politics, including roles as an MLA, an executive member of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), and leader of the opposition, I believe I should be entrusted with more substantial responsibilities. I am committed to performing effectively,” he asserted.

Since Tipra Motha’s inclusion in the state government in March, Animesh Debbarma and Brishaketu Debbarma have been appointed as ministers. Brishaketu Debbarma currently serves as the MoS of the Industries & Commerce Department.
