Tripura: Nephew Kills Uncle and Aunt Over Land Dispute in Sepahijala
Bishalgarh, Tripura: A tragic incident occurred on the night of January 31 at Bishalgarh sub-division, under Sepahijala District, where two individuals were killed by their nephew in a violent confrontation stemming from a land dispute.
The accused, Achinta Das, allegedly attacked his uncle Bipul Das and aunt Sima Das with a sharp weapon, leading to their deaths.
The couple’s two sons, Kisan (18) and Joy (16), were also injured in the attack and are currently receiving treatment at GB Pant Hospital, with their conditions described as critical.
According to sources, the violence erupted suddenly during a scuffle between Bipul and Achinta. In an attempt to intervene, Bipul’s wife and sons were also attacked.
Bipul died instantly, while Sima succumbed to her injuries at Bishalgarh Sub-divisional Hospital.
The police, led by Sepahijala District Superintendent of Police Bogati Reddy and DIG (Ranges) Ipper Manchak, responded promptly to the scene.
Upon their arrival, they found Bipul’s body and confirmed that Sima had passed away at the hospital.
DIG Ipper Manchak confirmed the motive behind the crime was a family dispute over land and stated that Achinta Das and his mother, Alpana Das, have been arrested in connection with the murders. He assured the public that the situation was under control, and an interrogation is underway. There were no prior criminal records associated with the accused.
