Tripura Police Seize Counterfeit BSF Vehicle with Cannabis Worth Rs 76 Lakh
Northeast Desk, 3rd February: In an operation on the intervening night of Saturday, Tripura Police detained a counterfeit BSF vehicle and seized cannabis worth Rs 76 lakh at Durga Chowmuhani village under Dhalai District.
Dhalai District Superintendent of Police, Avinash Rai, stated that based on secret information, police personnel from Kamalpur police station detained the fake BSF vehicle and seized the cannabis. The green-colored Bolero Vehicle, resembling a BSF vehicle, was detained near SPO camp at Durga Chowmuhani.
The vehicle, coming from the Ambassa side and headed towards Fatikroy, Kumarghat, was found to be loaded with 41 packets containing 381.600 kgs of Ganja, estimated to be worth Rs 76 lakh. The driver and co-driver of the vehicle managed to flee the scene.
The seized vehicle and cannabis have been kept in police station custody. The operation is part of Tripura Police’s ongoing efforts for a ‘Nasha Mukt Tripura,’ focusing on curbing illegal substance activities in the region.
