Tripura Police Seize Yaba Tablets Worth Rs 2.28 Crore, Arrest Three in Dhalai District

Northeast Desk, 14th September: In a major drug bust, Tripura Police seized Yaba tablets worth Rs 2.28 crore from Durgachowmuhani village in Dhalai district, leading to the arrest of three individuals.

Dhalai District Superintendent of Police (SP), Avinash Rai, highlighting that the operation is another step toward achieving a ‘Nasha Mukta Tripura’ (drug-free Tripura).

At around 2:15 AM, police intercepted a Tata Safari coming from Fatikroy and recovered 91,200 Yaba tablets in the presence of SDPO Kamalpur, an Executive Magistrate, and independent witnesses. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated at Rs 2.28 crore.

The arrested individuals—Litan Miah (32), Saminul Islam (25), and Jahir Hossain (40)—are residents of Sonamura, Sepahijala district, near the Bangladesh border. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered for further investigation.
