Tripura Receives Rs 240.5 Crores for Urban Planning Reforms

Agartala: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced that the Ministry of Finance has released a substantial fund of Rs 240.5 crores to Tripura, aimed at achieving urban planning reforms. This significant allocation is expected to transform 20 Municipal and Nagar Panchayat areas across the state.

The fund will be utilised for various projects, including water supply and flood management, solar-powered street lights and high mast lights, CCTV installation in all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), water ATMs and market development, urban Anganwadi centres, and riverfront development. These initiatives are designed to enhance the overall quality of life for residents in these areas.

Dr. Saha expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar for their unwavering support in Tripura’s progress towards Viksit Bharat. This funding is a testament to the central government’s commitment to promoting urban development and improving the lives of citizens across the country.
