Tripura Secures Rs 3,683 Crore in Investment at ‘Destination Tripura: Business Conclave-2025’

Agartala: Tripura marked a significant milestone in its economic growth as 87 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹3,683 crore were signed at the recently concluded ‘Destination Tripura: Business Conclave-2025,’ the state government announced.

Addressing the conclave in Agartala, Chief Minister Manik Saha urged investors to explore Tripura’s vast industrial potential despite its small geographical size. Highlighting the state’s rich natural resources—including natural gas, tea, rubber, bamboo, and agar—he emphasized their commercial viability for large-scale industrial ventures. Notably, Tripura has over 2,000 hectares of agar plantations in non-forest areas and produces more than 1 lakh metric tonnes of raw rubber annually.

Saha also underscored the state’s evolving infrastructure, particularly in Sabroom, which is poised to become a major trade hub. He pointed to the Maitri Setu bridge connecting Tripura’s Sabroom with Bangladesh’s Ramgarh, which, once operational, will reduce the distance to Chittagong port to just 72 km, turning Tripura into a strategic gateway to Southeast Asia. The upcoming Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Sabroom and the near-complete Indo-Bangladesh railway line further enhance the region’s industrial appeal.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering investment, Saha assured potential investors of full state support and highlighted the transformative impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s HIRA (Highways, i-Way, Railways, and Airways) model in strengthening connectivity.

Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha hailed the conclave’s success, stating that the signed MoUs reflect growing investor confidence in Tripura’s economic future. He reiterated the government’s goal of achieving a ‘Viksit Tripura’ by 2047 through mission-driven industrial growth.
