Tripura: Significant Drug Bust at Agartala Railway Station

Northeast Desk, 6th August: In a major drug bust on Monday, August 5, police at Agartala Railway Station apprehended a man carrying 13 kilograms of dry ganja, hidden inside a trolley bag near the parcel office. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth a substantial amount.

The accused, Ratan Kumar, a 20-year-old from Munger district in Bihar, was taken into custody by law enforcement officials. A case has been registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities are now investigating to trace the origin of the seized drugs and uncover any connections to larger trafficking networks.

Police officials have emphasized their commitment to implementing stringent measures against individuals involved in drug trafficking activities within the region.

This incident follows the recent arrest of a Bangladeshi woman in West Tripura’s Charipara area for her alleged involvement in human trafficking, highlighting ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address various forms of illegal activities in the area.
