Tripura: Two Bangladeshi Women Detained at Agartala Railway Station for Illegal Entry into India

Agartala: The Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) detained two Bangladeshi women at the Agartala railway station on December 22 for illegally crossing the border into India.

The detainees, identified as Nilufa Begum (34) and Jiasmin (30), both hailing from Shariatpur district in Bangladesh, were apprehended during a coordinated operation involving the GRP, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and the Intelligence Department.

According to police officials, the women had reportedly arrived at the station with plans to board a train to another state, with initial investigations suggesting Delhi as their intended destination.

Female officers are leading the ongoing interrogation at the Agartala GRP Police Station to uncover more details about their movements and objectives.

Authorities believe the case may involve additional individuals and anticipate further arrests as the investigation unfolds.

A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and the two women are set to be presented before the court on Tuesday.

Police officials noted that the ongoing interrogation could reveal critical information about their illegal entry and possible networks facilitating such activities, highlighting the importance of stringent border security and surveillance efforts.
