Tripura: Two Held in Agartala shootout incident
Guwahati: Tension erupted in the Natunnagar area on the outskirts of Agartala city in Tripura following a shootout incident late on Tuesday night.
At least two people were injured by gunfire in the incident that occurred in front of a restaurant by the highway.
The police made two arrests in relation to the shooting incident that occurred close to Agartala city in Tripura on Wednesday morning.
The arrested persons have been identified as Prabhakar Ghosh (40) and Santosh Das (35).
The Tripura police informed that the culprit allegedly used a tiny firearm to discharge up to four rounds of ammunition.
Both of the people who have been detained are well-known to be close friends with Dilip Das, a local BJP MLA, and they have both been charged with a variety of offences, including drug smuggling.
Two injured persons were identified as Sanjay Das and Haripad Das.
Both injured people were taken to the hospital right away, where physicians deemed them to be in no danger.
Sanjoy was wounded on the waist by the bullet, and Haripada was injured on the hand and leg.
The two injured people and four other people were eating fast food there when two vehicles abruptly stopped in front of the restaurant and started firing indiscriminately
The accused then took off for the airport.
According to the authorities, the incident was a result of a conflict between two contractor groups.
